Fingerprint (or "Biometric") locks have become more and more promoted over the last few years and many people are asking about their cost and dependability.

Virtually all of these locks are made in China. Most of them are not represented by US distributors. 

Most of these locks look very good but are not dependable.

A lock is as strong as its weakest part.  All of the locks we have seen thus far available from distributors through the Internet are made with inferior parts.  Nearly all of them are made with spring latches which usually are not sufficient for security, but only good for convenience.  It has often happened that one of these locks will basically fall apart while under use and leave people unable to enter their homes. 

We have thus far found only one American company with a dependable fingerprint lock.  We have personally checked it out and found that all of its components are strong and are good of quality workmanship. It's put together very well.

Rather than a spring latch, this is a deadbolt lock. These provide excellent security.

It is the only fingerprint lock that Mulholland Security carries. We will not install any other fingerprint lock.

You can purchase this lock from us for $375.00. We charge ordinarily from $100-$150 for an installation. If you would like to install the lock yourself we will be happy to give you some tips to assist you in your installation. (In that we have already installed many of these, we know what it takes to install it correctly.)

Realize when you see a similar looking lock available for much less, it is not the same lock, but, likely, a very inferior imitation. Any cheaper lock is an inferior lock that is quite likely to cause trouble.
